I met Yehya back in 2003 during Patchi’s advertising photo shoot.
Yehya Saade in Patchi's Ad in 2003
He was an extremely talented art director; I’ve seen his work before on Snob Hassnaa mag. I was truly impressed by his talents and enjoyed working with him.
But knowing me as an artist who does what ever she feels, we did not have the same approach to the same ideas. He respected me for who I am and what I did.
So throughout the years, I had the chance of working with Yehya on few projects, I was not part of his team, but I liked working with him from time to time, as it’s challenging and edgy.
When I was working on my book, it happened that once, he was at David Abdallah’s studio and he just jump in and helped with 2 photos. It was so generous from him to do that. Since that day, projects came for both of us and we learned how to get along.

Latest Photo shoot for Bassem Feghali that was literally just a week ago (Today is 20th) and that was the time where I felt that Yehya & I are closer and we were approving on everything. I had the feeling that more project will come on the way, I was right. He approached me with Maya Diab to test the make up for her first music video. We approved on the looks, he was so happy and he showed me how its going to be, he had a smile on his face -like a baby. I cant forget that smile…he said we are shooting in a week.
Then what happened is that I was not available on the dates of the shoot, so he sent me a message telling me: “hayete our shooting is on the 18th and 20 sorry for that. hope to work with you soon.take care xxx.”
That was the last thing I heard from him….
I have then received the shocking news about what happened in Turkey….. I was devastated… and still shocked… till this moment.
I am writing this just to tell him that I love him so much and he will be missed. His talent is irreplaceable. I will remember him as a talented and creative man. He was funny; in a sarcastic way. He always had a message in his shoots that most people won’t get or understand. He was taken as a bold person who is not afraid to show us what he thinks. Even if we are different but he still has respect for what others beliefs ….
You will be missed Yehya Saade.
